DESCRIPTION:Ross Parsons Centre Law & Business seminar: Reforming creditors’ schemes of arrangement: Lessons from the Netherlands\nThis webinar will discuss the new creditors scheme of arrangement (WHOA) reforms in the Netherlands that were introduced in 2020. The webinar will provide an overview of the WHOA and discuss what lessons can be learnt from the initial cases decided under the new law. Will the Dutch scheme supplant English schemes post-Brexit as the restructuring tool of choice in Europe? Does the Dutch scheme offer lessons for Australia in reforming our scheme of arrangement procedure? \nThese questions will be discussed by our expert panel: \nSpeaker: Johan Jol\nJohan works for ABN AMRO Bank NV as part of the Financial Restructuring and Recovery Legal Team and has extensive experience working as legal counsel for a range of banks and law firms in the Netherlands\, London and New York. Johan is a member of the Expert Group on Restructuring and Insolvency Law for the European Commission and teaches international and comparative bankruptcy law in the United States as well as teaching at Leiden Law School. Johan is also an INSOL Fellow.
