International Insolvency Research Symposium: “Insolvency Current Issues”

International Insolvency Research Symposium: “Insolvency Current Issues”

Online symposium: 12 July and 14 July 2022, 5-7pm AEST / 8-10am BST

 

Professor Jason Harris (University of Sydney), Catherine Robinson (University of Technology, Sydney), Chris Umfreville (Aston University) and Professor Peter Walton (University of Wolverhampton) are organising an online international insolvency research symposium.

The event will provide a forum to discuss topical insolvency issues and developments, including responding to the post COVID economy and future of insolvency regulation.

Submissions of papers include:

  • The relationship between IPs and creditors
  • Post COVID insolvency reforms
  • MSME insolvency and restructuring reforms
  • Director liability in insolvency
  • Pre insolvency restructuring initiatives
  • Regulation of insolvency practitioners
  • Remuneration of insolvency practitioners
  • Treatment of employees in insolvency
  • Insolvency and trusts
  • Insolvency and leasing arrangements
  • International and comparative insolvency perspectives.

The symposium will comprise two panels over two days. Each panel will include three papers and discussion.

The symposium will be free to attend and take place on:

  • Tuesday 12 July 2022: 5-7pm AEST / 8-10am BST
  • Thursday 14 July 2022: 5-7pm AEST / 8-10am BST

The deadline for submission abstracts was 5pm AEST on 9 June 2022. Submissions are now closed.
